Wat Pho temple in Thailand

Wat Pho is also known as the Temple of the Buddha lying known and will be built in the district of Phra Nakhon, Thailand. The temple was before the restoration of a temple in the exact same. In fact, the construction of the temple began in 1788 and was restored in 1824 Wat Pho has been obtained recently, in 1982 back to magnificance old and new sizes.

Wat Pho is one of the largest temples in Thailand. It covers an area of 80,000 square meters. Wat Phohouses more than one thousand Buddha images and one of them is the image of the Reclining Buddha. This image is forty six metres long and fifteen metres in height. The body of the image is covered with gold plated sheet and the eyes are made from pearls. The feet of the Reclining Buddha are decorated with 108 auspicious scenes in Chinese and Indian styles.

Prior to the founding of the temple, the place was the center for traditional Thai medicine. There are still still images housed Presentation at the Temple of various yoga postures. The temple is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage known. In 1962 a school for traditional medicine and massage was built in the area of the temple.
